Fighting Game Community College at Transfer Co Food Hall: Come relax with Smash Bros. Ultimate, Street Fighter 6, and more video games! All Ages Welcome

All Ages Welcome!

Transfer Co Ballroom, 500 E Davie St Suite 160, Raleigh, NC 27601

December 15th from 2-5:30 PM, Every Third Sunday

Schedule

Limited spots, walk-ins allowed

Fighting Game Community College is a place where you can set goals and trade feedback in a structured, friendly meetup. Whether your goal is just to relax or to hone your skills, you are welcomed here. This is not a tournament so feel free to experiment and have fun with no pressure to win.

Low sodium environment for casual gamers

No experience required. This event is focused on learning, having fun, and creating hilarious memories. No pressure to win here. Whether this will be your first time playing fighting games or you’ve been playing for years and are looking for a more casual environment, you are welcome here.

How the event works

SET GOALS: Sit down with your fellow player and share your goals for the match. Relaxing, having fun, or finally playing that F-tier, cheesy character are valid goals.

PLAY MATCHES: Play with purpose, head to the lab, or try a funny ruleset until time is called. No need to track scores. Not sure what to do? Try these ideas.

EXCHANGE FEEDBACK: After each match, exchange feedback with your partner using our tip sheets. Sometimes you’ll know things that others don’t. Explaining concepts to others deepens your own learning (plus you’ll feel smart).

GET COMBOS: At the beginning of the event you will be given a COMBO card that you can fill out after every match. Each card has a mix of different goals on them for within and outside the game. For each COMBO you complete, you earn another spot in our giveaway at the end of the event.

NEXT MATCH: Organizers will regulate your matches and you’ll repeat the process. This ensures ample play time with everyone while preventing king of the hill or the shy person never getting to play.

Games

NINTENDO SWITCH: Smash Bros. Ultimate

PLAY STATION 5: Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8

Do good, feel good: Pay what you believe it’s worth to you!

Pay what you think it’s worth. 10% goes to charity at the end of the month and the rest helps support us and buy more fighting game DLC! We value creating accessible third spaces, so feel free to come out regardless of your ability to pay.
