Are kids allowed at your events?
Unless stated our events are for all ages. We pride ourselves on being a family friendly place for all kids and their caregivers. We always make sure kids can have a great time by showing them how to play, setting up their controls, and matching them up with others who have the same level of experience as them. For caregivers, we offer a welcoming, low-pressure environment where you’re encouraged to relax on your own or play alongside your kids. We know that caregivers come in all forms, parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family, friends, chosen family, and we make sure everyone feels seen, respected, and included.
Are your events accessible?
We always strive to make our events both physically and mentally accessible for people of all abilities including people that have mobility aids or are neurodivergent/autistic. Each event includes information on physical accessibility for that location and you can always contact us at hello@nclecticesports.com for any questions or concerns.
Are your events inclusive?
Everyone is welcome regardless of race, gender identity, age, ability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, nationality, language, body size, neurodiversity, and their intersections. Our events are a space where you can be yourself. Please email us at hello@nceclecticesports.com with any concerns or accommodation requests. We will do our best to assist, though we cannot guarantee all requests can be fulfilled.
Are beginners welcome at your events?
Our events are always welcoming to beginners, even people with no experience. We purposely pair beginners with each other and monitor matches so beginners always get the help they need. We’ll even show someone how to play and get started even if they’ve never held a controller before.
What are casual competitions, traditional tournaments, and freeplay?
Our casual competition system uses the best of both traditional tournaments and free play with none of the drawbacks. Traditional tournaments give structure, but are stressful and people are eliminated quickly if they don’t know how to play well. Free play is less stressful, but without any structure people can be stuck waiting forever to play and skill disparities are unmanaged. Our casual competition system gives just enough structure so that everyone gets to play plenty and play against people close to their skill level while no one is ever eliminated.
Does your events have prizes?
At most of our events you can earn custom tickets to collect and turn into prizes. Prizes include stickers, buttons, candy tins, plushies, and t-shirts. You can learn more about our tickets and prizes here.
Do I need to bring anything?
You do not need to bring anything for our events. Everything is provided by us.
